Terrorism plays a significant role in geopolitics since 1970’s and 80’s. Since then the great powers of the world have made use of these terror groups to achieve certain geopolitical objectives for their own country. For example, USA used Pakistan as a proxy against India which was through these terror groups in Pakistan. Chinese have been sponsoring Naga terrorist outfits which is very well documented.
These terrorist outfits are mainly used for proxy warfare against a country and to make it bleed by a thousand cuts, this is specially practiced against India and through this the middle-east is also on a boil since the 1940’s. When these powers don’t need these terror outfits anymore they gradually loosen their relations and a point comes when these terror groups which were once in favour of a country are now thirsty for its blood, this is the same case that happened with ISIS and USA, USA formed ISIS to achieve certain goals in Syria and Iraq but later formed Al-quaeda to dismantle ISIS. It is indeed a pity game.
What leads to the rise of these militant groups?
Whenever in a country or a region there is absence of supreme power or we may say there is a power vacuum the local gangsters and thugs rise and terrorise people and these form terrorist groups. This can be prevented only when the power vacuum is not allowed to form.
